Christantus Uche Sparks Comfortable Crystal Palace Victory at Shelbourne.
Despite entering their maiden European campaign, Crystal Palace are adapting at a rapid pace. Without star figures like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles left Dublin with a comfortable result that all but secures them a spot in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds.
A further victory in their upcoming fixture against Finland's KuPS should be sufficient to secure direct passage to the last 16, especially following a prior stumble against Strasbourg.
Fringe Players Grasp the Moment
This occasion offered a platform for several Palace's fringe talent to shine. Christantus Uche, making only his second start after joining on loan from Getafe, notched the scoring with a well-taken finish. Striker Eddie Nketiah added a second, finding the net for the second consecutive succession.
The Shelbourne team that had finished their domestic season were no match even for a mostly rotated Palace lineup. The visitors were already depleted by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with knee injuries.

The contest was effectively over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past some comically weak challenges before coolly dispatching a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.
Following the break, manager Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to rest key players like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse almost scoring his very first touch, only to see his shot blocked.
Esse was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one shot crash off each posts before being gathered on the line. Uche also missed a glaring chance, indicating there is still scope for improvement in his game.
A solitary concern for Palace was a late knock to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This paved the way for 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to make his first-team debut, capping an otherwise perfect evening for the traveling side.
